I grew up on the Essex coast where I spent a lot of my time sailing!
I studied medicine at Saint Bartholomew’s Medical School, graduating in 1977. I then embarked on a surgical career, specialising in cardiothoracic surgery and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. In the late 1980s I decided to move into general practice and, following 2 years GP training, became a private GP in London working in both Notting Hill and at the London Wellman Clinic.
My special medical interests are cardiology and men’s health, including testosterone replacement treatment.
I began working with Brian McGirr at DOCTORnow in 2005. We subsequently became business partners and over the last 12 years I have really enjoyed seeing the way DOCTORnow has evolved and developed.
My wife Barbara and I have two grown up sons and two black Labradors – the latter helping to keep us fit! We both enjoy country pursuits, in particular clay pigeon shooting and long rambles.
Each member of our GP team was hand-picked by Brian and I, not only for their medical expertise but also for their caring and empathetic clinical approach. So, although I am unable to take on any new patients as my patient list is currently full, I can be sure that any of my GP colleagues will provide you with excellent care.
