Ms Sonia Kumar
Ms. Sonia Kumar is a highly skilled Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeon specializing in various aspects of ENT surgery, with a particular focus on otology and ear disorders affecting both adults and children. She graduated from Oxford University Medical School, where she laid the foundation for her distinguished medical career.
Following her medical education, Ms. Kumar completed her initial surgical training in the West Midlands, advancing to higher surgical training in Oxford. Her commitment to excellence in her field is further demonstrated by her completion of two prestigious fellowships: the Oxford Otology Fellowship and the International Paediatric Otology and Airway Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Currently, Ms. Kumar works as a Consultant Adult and Paediatric ENT surgeon and treats the full range of ENT conditions. She is a vital member of the Auditory Implant Team at Oxford University Hospitals, where she specializes in all aspects of ear surgery, including glue ear, ear infections, hearing restoration and otological implants such as bone-anchored hearing aids and cochlear implants. In addition to her work with adults, she is also an integral part of the Paediatric ENT team, ensuring comprehensive care for younger patients treating a range of conditions such as sore throats, hearing loss, neck lumps and breathing problems.
Ms. Kumar extends her expertise to Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust, where she serves as an ENT Consultant with an interest in Otology and Paediatric ENT and works at both Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe Hospitals.
Ms Kumar is an active participating member of the ENT UK council as well as a Regional Specialty Professional Advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons England. She is also a member of the British society of Otology (BSO), British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG), British Paediatric Association of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngolists (BAPO) and European Association of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngolists (ESPO).
