Our team
At DoctorNow, who we work with matters as much as what we do. We’re careful about the people we bring into our team, who we select not just for their clinical skill, but for how they show up with patients.
Every doctor and healthcare professional here shares the same belief: good medicine starts with seeing the whole person. Not a set of symptoms or a case number. When you meet our team, you’ll notice the difference because we take the time to listen properly, and we care deeply about delivering continuity of care.

Dr Brian McGirr
GP/Chairman/Chief Medical Officer
“Born in Belfast, my Father’s work took us to Zambia when I was 5. We returned to Buckinghamshire in 1975 where I was educated at Aylesbury Grammar School and went on to study medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1987.
I founded DoctorNow in 2003, following a 15 year career in the NHS. My motivation and passion for starting DoctorNow is unchanged; I still believe the patient should be at the centre of everything we do and treated as an individual on their own merits.
Since founding our private practice, my colleague Richard Angwin and I have established a team of excellent clinicians who share our patient centred philosophies and between them have a wide range of specialisms.
My special medical interests are Paediatrics; Musculoskeletal and Respiratory Medicine and managing complex medical cases.
Whilst I am no longer taking on new patients as my list is currently full, I am very proud of the medical team here. I am confident that, whichever of my GP colleagues you see, you will be extremely well looked after.”
