Mr Ricky Pal
Mr. Ricky Pal is a highly respected and fellowship-trained Consultant Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon, specialising in all aspects of ENT surgery. He currently practices within the NHS at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, while also consulting privately at The Beaconsfield Clinic.
Mr. Pal graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2003, earning a double first-class degree. He was awarded the Moses Hollaway Scholarship and John Addenbrooke’s Award for academic excellence. Following his studies, he undertook specialist surgical training in London, Manchester, and Oxford, gaining experience at renowned teaching hospitals, including the Royal National Throat, Nose, and Ear Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Manchester Royal Infirmary, and The John Radcliffe Hospital.
After completing his training in the UK, Mr. Pal was awarded the Colledge Memorial Fellowship by The Royal College of Surgeons of England. He further honed his expertise through a fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, at BC Children’s Hospital and The University of British Columbia (2016–17). He has also undertaken training visitations at Harvard Medical School and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Mr. Pal returned to Oxford in 2017 to take up a substantive consultant position.
In his current role, Mr. Pal is a key member of the Paediatric ENT and Airway Multidisciplinary Service, ensuring comprehensive care for younger patients. He also serves as an Honorary Consultant to Buckinghamshire NHS Trust and is the regional ENT lead for the Oxford Spires Cleft Centre, where he manages complex ENT conditions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. He is actively involved with several professional organisations, including ENT UK, the British Society of Otology (BSO), and the British, European, and American Paediatric Associations of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (BAPO, ESPO, ASPO). Mr. Pal networks with a wide range of colleagues and collaborators across the globe and lectures at The University of Oxford Medical School.
Mr. Pal has an outstanding record of national and international recognition in his field. In 2012, he was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Gold Medal for ranking first in the national intercollegiate FRCS ORL-HNS examination across Great Britain and Ireland. He subsequently pursued scientific research, leading to the award of his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Manchester. This research earned him the prestigious Manchester Doctoral College Award. He has also presented at numerous international conferences, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed several invited book chapters.

In his clinical practice, Mr. Pal manages a broad spectrum of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, including:
- Ear Disorders, Hearing loss, ear infections, perforated eardrums, and ear discharge, often utilising minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery techniques.
- Paediatric ENT disease from congenital conditions to more common issues such as glue ear, disruptive snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) with intracapsular coblation adenotonsillectomy.
- Nasal blockage, facial pain, and sinusitis, with expertise in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty for a deviated nasal septum.
- Throat disorders, tonsillitis, hoarseness, and the diagnosis of neck lumps in children and adults.
